Model year 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the first production Chevrolet truck. A century and more than 85 million trucks later, Chevrolet has become one of the most recognizable brands in the world. To celebrate the Chevy Trucks Centennial, the brand is honoring the owners who have made Chevy Trucks a part of their lives for the past century with a 100-day celebration featuring two new Special Edition trucks, the national rollout of the Truck Legends customer loyalty program and more. “The Chevy Trucks Centennial is a huge milestone for us, and is equally important to our customers,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks Advertising and Marketing director. “That’s why we will be celebrating 100 years of Chevy Trucks over the course of the next 100 days. It’s important that we share this celebration with our loyal customers who have helped us achieve this accomplishment.”

Today at the State Fair of Texas, Chevrolet confirmed that its all-new Class 4 and 5 trucks launching in late 2018 will be branded Silverado. The announcement came during Chevrolet’s Truck Centennial event, which kicked off a 100-day celebration of the first century of Chevrolet pickups. “The first Chevy truck was built in 1918 for small business owners, and we have been expanding the market ever since because customers want specialized trucks that can tow and haul with confidence,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Marketing and Advertising for Chevrolet Trucks. A 120-volt charge cord comes standard with the Bolt EV. The 240-volt (32-amp) charging is the fastest and most convenient way to charge at home – however, it does require a separate charging unit (also called an EVSE) and professional installation. With the 240-volt charging unit, there is the benefit of up to 25 miles of range per hour of charge. So, if you drive an average of 40–50 miles a day, like most U.S. commuters, you could replenish your battery in about two hours. You can find the available 240-volt charging unit at Bolt EV certified dealers and online at GM Accessories. Our partner, Aerovironment, provides a convenient, easy-to-use solution for home installation. Otherwise, be sure to talk to a certified electrician about installation costs and incentives in your area. Plus, with Programmable and Location-Based Charging options, you can easily set your Bolt EV to take advantage of off-peak utility rates to help save money. So, don’t forget check with your utility provider about off-peak utility rates, as well as available incentives and rebates for installation of a home charging unit.

Chevrolet announced today that the Bolt EV, the first affordable long-range electric car, is now available by order or in stock at certified dealerships nationwide. Through Aug. 30, 2017, Chevrolet has sold 11,670 Bolt EVs this year and 12,249 since the start of sales in December 2016. Current owners are praising the all-electric small crossover’s impressive range, affordability and roominess. “It’s been everything I had hoped!” said Brian Ro of Columbia, Maryland, who was among the first Bolt EV owners. “The CUV-styling fits my family of four just fine, and the EV performance and 200-plus mile range simply can’t be beat at this price point.” Watch to see how you can get a monthly email that updates you on the health and wellness of your Chevy.
