In the blink of an eye, the 2014 and 2015 Chevrolet Malibu is leading the way in bringing fuel-saving standard start/stop technology to the mainstream sedan market. Ninety-seven percent of customers who purchased a 2014 or 2015 Malibu – accounting for about 83,000 vehicles – opted for the 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder base engine equipped with standard stop/start technology. It is the most aggressive rollout of stop/start technology in the U.S. by an American automaker. Stop/start reduces fuel consumption and wasteful idling by automatically shutting off the engine when the car comes to a stop – such as at a traffic light. The engine automatically restarts within 337 milliseconds – about the speed of the blink of an eye – after the driver takes his foot off the brake. “Chevrolet will continue to bring innovative technologies across our product lineup and stop/start is one of many ways we are helping customers save at the gas pump,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet cars. Last fall, the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu became the first vehicle for the brand sold in the U.S. with stop/start technology. In conjunction with a new valve lift control feature and a new six-speed automatic transmission, it helped achieve a 14-percent improvement in city fuel economy, or an EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon. J.D. Power’s most recent Initial Quality Survey, which measures the quality of vehicles after 90 days of ownership, showed customers ranked the 2014 Malibu higher than any other vehicle in its segment. The technology capitalizes on vehicle idling occurrences. According to Sustainable America, the average American driver spends 16 minutes each day idling in his or her vehicle. That adds up to four days a year going nowhere. Vehicle idling also results in Americans wasting approximately 3.8 million gallons of gas each day, according to a study by The Hinkle Charitable Foundation. This explains in part Chevrolet’s commitment to the technology. Recently, Chevrolet announced the addition of standard stop/start technology in the flagship 2015 Impala sedan. It improves city fuel economy by 5 percent, or one mpg for an EPA-estimated 22 miles per gallon. The 2015 Impala is available for sale now. A report from Navigant Research predicted worldwide sales of vehicles with stop/start technology will grow from 8.8 million in 2013 to 55.4 million in 2022. COURTESY CHEVROLET

The Text Message Alerts technology pairs your phone or another Bluetooth device that offers text messaging. Now you can initiate a command through the message icon, located on the display screen. What functions do you get to enjoy? If your phone pairs up properly, you can do any of the following tasks.
And are they beneficial? The Text Message Alert feature provides you with a number of advantages. For starters, it reduces distractions by allowing you to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes ahead. So even when driving with full concentration, you will still be able to access all of your important messages. Vehicles that offer the Text Message Alert feature This feature is available for all models that incorporate the MyLink™, IntelliLink or Cadillac CUE3 technology, with the exception of Spark, Spark EV, Sonic and Trax. Models such as Sierra 2500HD and 3500H, Escalade/ESVD, Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado Heavy Duty, Yukon and Yukon XL have the Text Message Alerts feature. Please note that this feature is offered only with 2015 models but there are exceptions once again. Certain 14MY vehicles also have this feature such as the Cruze, Cruze Diesel, Chevrolet Camaro, Traverse, Volt, Equinox, Malibu and SS. A car that can deliver more than 600 horsepower, the all new Corvette Z06 is one of a kind, and is among General Motors’s most powerful vehicles. Featuring a massive certified V8 engine, 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft and a power rating of 650 horsepower, the Corvette Z06 LT4 has everything you will want from an amazing vehicle. According to the vice president of the Engineering department of General Motors, Steve Kiefer, the LT4 has exceeded previously set standards with regards to torque and power. The engine featured in the car is superb, and has put the Corvette Z06 in competition with some of the most powerful cars in the country. As for performance, you can easily drive it through tow without any issues. The Chief President of Small Block engines claimed that torque is what makes an engine pull a car. LT4 has this in abundance, which allows the Corvette Z06 to achieve acceleration quickly. The LT4 engine of the 2015 Corvette is similar to the engines used in the previous models in terms of technologies. However, there are slight differences which translate into a performance beyond excellence. LT4 Details The new engine has a similar to the LT1 engine, featured in Corvette Stingray, but some unique features have been incorporated so that the engine delivers a higher output and increased cylinder pressures. The LT4 engine has a Rotocast A356T6 aluminum head for the cylinder, which is stronger than traditional heads. It also deals with heat in a better manner. The intake valves are made from lightweight titanium whereas the pistons are of forged aluminum. This maintains structural strength even when cylindrical pressures are high. The compressions ratio of 10:0.1 boosts performance and efficiency. It will be in the fourth quarter of this year that the Corvette Z06 2015 is available at Courtesy Cherolet. Test drive the car, and you will be impressed by it so much that you will instantly want it for yourself. COURTESY CHEVROLET
