GM and Chevrolet will offer the fastest, most powerful production Corvette ever built for auction to benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the work it does to support wounded veterans through the Building for America’s Bravest program. On Jan. 20, 2018, the first retail production 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will hit the auction block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona. “GM and Chevrolet are proud to honor and support the brave men and women of our armed forces,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. Sales and Service. “With the proceeds from the auction of the Corvette ZR1, we will be able to offer additional support to some of our most severely wounded veterans through the Building for America’s Bravest effort.” With more than 6,000 veterans employed at GM and more than 50,000 GM retirees who are veterans, GM and Chevrolet are committed to helping those who have given so much for their country.

As millions of Americans prepare to hit the road for Thanksgiving holiday travel, a new survey conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of Chevrolet reveals that keeping the kids entertained and hearing the ever-present “Are we there yet?” ranked lower than traffic, packing and cost when it comes to the top family road trip stressors. The Harris Poll surveyed 1,063 U.S. parents1 of children under 18 to explore the state of the American family road trip. As traffic levels are projected to increase during the upcoming Thanksgiving travel week, parents indicated that in-vehicle technologies can improve the family road trip experience by making gridlock more bearable. Technology offered in vehicles such as the all-new Chevrolet Traverse can give parents added peace and quiet on the road. More than half of American parents (56 percent) said that Wi-Fi/internet connectivity would help make family road trips more enjoyable, making it the top in-vehicle tech on their wish list for family road trips. Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women who have given their time, service and courage. Without your sacrifices we would not live in this great country where we have so many great privileges.
The 2017 Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player, George Springer, was presented with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado Centennial Edition pickup in recognition of his strong performance on the field as the Houston Astros won the first World Series championship in their franchise history. Springer, the Astros centerfielder, went 11-for-29 with five home runs and seven RBI. He tied the record for the most home runs in a World Series, a feat achieved by only two other players – Reggie Jackson with the New York Yankees in 1977 and Chase Utley with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009. A media panel and online fan votes on MLB.com, the club sites and the MLB.com At Bat app helped determine the MVP Award winner. Earlier this year, Major League Baseball honored Hall of Famer Willie Mays by renaming the MVP award in recognition of his many contributions to the game. |
