The purpose of adding another feature to the new Valet Mode is to make customers comfortable when the system, upon activation, is able to lock the interior storage, the infotainment equipment, and record data of their 2015 Chevrolet Corvettes. The product manager, Harlan Charles, has termed this Performance Data Recorder as a “baby monitor”. Many people who perceive their vehicles only as their baby, and have felt uneasy whenever it goes out of sight, will appreciate its worth. Introduced in 2014, the Corvette Valet Mode system is to be accessed through the settings menu and activated by typing in a personalized four-digit code. Once the code is confirmed, the storage bin (behind the center stack display) as well as the infotainment and radio tech and the glove box will be automatically locked and disabled. With the pioneering Performance Data Recorder for 2015 combined with an active Valet Mode, those who own Corvette drives will document, in HD quality, the in-car audio, video, and vehicle data that would include engine RPM, speed, g-force, and gear position. If the person is parked somewhere and need to view the video instantly, they can do so on the eight-inch color touchscreen or if they wish, after downloading it onto their computer. Where initially PDR was intended to be a tool for drivers to note their laps on tracks, it was developed to cater to multiple functions. The team partnered with Cosworth to build its three major components: a 720p, HD camera over the windshield header trim, a self-contained telemetry recorder that is connected with the Stingray’s Controller Area Network, and a SD-card slot located in the glove box. The microphone is placed separately in the cabin. An 8 GB card will be ideal for an approximate 200 minutes of driving while video options such as Sport Mode, Track Mode, Touring Mode and Performance mode and the Cosworth Toolbox software enable greater understanding of the performance. A car that can deliver more than 600 horsepower, the all new Corvette Z06 is one of a kind, and is among General Motors’s most powerful vehicles. Featuring a massive certified V8 engine, 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft and a power rating of 650 horsepower, the Corvette Z06 LT4 has everything you will want from an amazing vehicle. According to the vice president of the Engineering department of General Motors, Steve Kiefer, the LT4 has exceeded previously set standards with regards to torque and power. The engine featured in the car is superb, and has put the Corvette Z06 in competition with some of the most powerful cars in the country. As for performance, you can easily drive it through tow without any issues. The Chief President of Small Block engines claimed that torque is what makes an engine pull a car. LT4 has this in abundance, which allows the Corvette Z06 to achieve acceleration quickly. The LT4 engine of the 2015 Corvette is similar to the engines used in the previous models in terms of technologies. However, there are slight differences which translate into a performance beyond excellence. LT4 Details The new engine has a similar to the LT1 engine, featured in Corvette Stingray, but some unique features have been incorporated so that the engine delivers a higher output and increased cylinder pressures. The LT4 engine has a Rotocast A356T6 aluminum head for the cylinder, which is stronger than traditional heads. It also deals with heat in a better manner. The intake valves are made from lightweight titanium whereas the pistons are of forged aluminum. This maintains structural strength even when cylindrical pressures are high. The compressions ratio of 10:0.1 boosts performance and efficiency. It will be in the fourth quarter of this year that the Corvette Z06 2015 is available at Courtesy Cherolet. Test drive the car, and you will be impressed by it so much that you will instantly want it for yourself. COURTESY CHEVROLET
