Your answer to the ‘spacious cum comfortable cum fuel efficient, and most importantly, fits-my-budget vehicle prayer’ is out in the form of the all-new Chevrolet Impala 2014. “If you're looking for a sizable sedan that offers sizable value, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is perfectly capable of capturing your attention” says Jack R. Nerad, Executive Editorial Director for Kelley Blue Brook’s KBB.com. Chevrolet combined a bold outlook with a sophisticated interior to give a smooth and comfortable ride under $30,000 that has become one of the top choices in this category. With the 10th generation Impala, the Product Planners aimed to bring a contemporary spark without having to compromise on cabin space and comfort. If anything, this new edition has an even bolder street presence even though there have been made only a minor changes to the dimensions. By incorporating active noise cancellation technology with triple sealed doors and acoustic foam baffles, with plenty of room, the ride has a luxurious feel. The V6-powered engine gives good fuel economy and adequate horsepower. Further adding to the fuel economy is the electric power steering. The new Impala is equipped with 7 airbags and an assortment of various safety features like the advanced adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking and a backup camera making driving it safer both on a busy highway or a quiet street. With the latest iteration, Chevrolet is definitely back in the game to challenge the competitors. So if you’re currently admiring the Toyota Avalon or the Dodge Charger, let us tell you that the Impala 2014 tops the list of consumer reviews. The roomier interior, improved aerodynamics and the overall ambience within the car make both driving and riding it a pleasurable experience. COURTESY CHEVROLET
The purpose of adding another feature to the new Valet Mode is to make customers comfortable when the system, upon activation, is able to lock the interior storage, the infotainment equipment, and record data of their 2015 Chevrolet Corvettes. The product manager, Harlan Charles, has termed this Performance Data Recorder as a “baby monitor”. Many people who perceive their vehicles only as their baby, and have felt uneasy whenever it goes out of sight, will appreciate its worth. Introduced in 2014, the Corvette Valet Mode system is to be accessed through the settings menu and activated by typing in a personalized four-digit code. Once the code is confirmed, the storage bin (behind the center stack display) as well as the infotainment and radio tech and the glove box will be automatically locked and disabled. With the pioneering Performance Data Recorder for 2015 combined with an active Valet Mode, those who own Corvette drives will document, in HD quality, the in-car audio, video, and vehicle data that would include engine RPM, speed, g-force, and gear position. If the person is parked somewhere and need to view the video instantly, they can do so on the eight-inch color touchscreen or if they wish, after downloading it onto their computer. Where initially PDR was intended to be a tool for drivers to note their laps on tracks, it was developed to cater to multiple functions. The team partnered with Cosworth to build its three major components: a 720p, HD camera over the windshield header trim, a self-contained telemetry recorder that is connected with the Stingray’s Controller Area Network, and a SD-card slot located in the glove box. The microphone is placed separately in the cabin. An 8 GB card will be ideal for an approximate 200 minutes of driving while video options such as Sport Mode, Track Mode, Touring Mode and Performance mode and the Cosworth Toolbox software enable greater understanding of the performance.
