Courtesy Chevrolet joins in the fight against breast cancer by participating in the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Walk. The 2012 Breast Cancer Walk - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Tempe Beach Park. Courtesy Chevrolet of Phoenix is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer and raising funds for research and education, with the aim of eliminating breast cancer. To that end, Courtesy Chevrolet is sponsoring a team for the 2012 American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk. Anyone interested in joining their team is welcome. One of Courtesy Chevrolet’s own staff members is currently fighting breast cancer; the remaining staff is showing support by wearing wristbands, and they want to take their support to the next level. Last year at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, Courtesy’s team raised $3,799 for the American Cancer Society. This year, they have challenged every team member to double their efforts and bring in $7,598. Every Courtesy Chevrolet team member will receive a pink shirt. In 2011, as Chevy and the American Breast Cancer Association each shared their 100th birthdays, Courtesy Chevrolet took up the challenge. They added a pink ribbon to the Courtesy sign on Camelback Road. They wrapped a Camaro in pink, and assembled a team to walk at the Tempe event. The entire staff wore pink each Saturday throughout October. For 2012, the staff at Courtesy Chevrolet will once again help raise awareness. Visit www.courtesycares.org for information on this year’s event, or join Courtesy’s Facebook page for the latest events being planned in October: facebook.com/courtesychevrolet. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer.
