All-new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are leaving Courtesy Chevrolet’s lot as soon as they arrive5/12/2014 The all-new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are once again proving why they are the segment leaders with demand for the updated SUVs outpacing expectations. Chevrolet created the SUV segment with the Suburban in 1935, and has been the sales leader in the full-size SUV market ever since. Today, the average turn rate, or how quickly it takes a particular vehicle to sell after it is delivered to the dealer, is 17 days for the Tahoe and 10 days for the Suburban. “Chevrolet's all-new Suburban and Tahoe offer improved quality, advanced technology and increased fuel efficiency, yet they retain their impressive towing capabilities,” said Karl Brauer, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book. “Robust sales confirm the ongoing market demand for traditional full-size SUVs with a compelling combination of performance and refinement.”

When the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon launches this fall, it will not only bring a full payload of midsize truck segment-leading capabilities, but segment safety firsts including a patent-pending child safety feature. Smaller jump seats found in extended cab midsize trucks may have too little lower seat cushion length to meet many child restraint manufacturer’s recommendation to have at least 80 percent of the child restraint base fit on the seat cushion. General Motors’ engineers have designed a patent-pending solution for the 2015 Canyon extended cab to help keep kids in child restraints safer in a collision. Using the rear jump seat headrest on the passenger side of the extended-cab Canyon, the jump seat cushion can be extended by removing the head rest and inserting it horizontally into the seat base. This helps the extended-cab Canyon satisfy the seat base recommendation of most child restraint manufacturers. “It’s an elegant solution that makes efficient use of the limited space in the rear seat in this type of vehicle, by allowing us to adapt the seat cushion length for child restraint installation,” said Eduardo Bugelli, safety performance team lead. “The additional seat cushion length provides more support to the child restraint, which helps to reduce the rotation and the risk of injury in a crash.” Arizona Cardinals Spring Tailgate

Chevrolet Adds Trax to Growing Small-Vehicle Lineup, coming to Courtesy Chevrolet, early next year.4/17/2014 At the New York International Auto Show yesterday, Chevrolet announced it will add the Trax, a new small SUV, to its portfolio. The 2015 Trax will offer versatility, connectivity and turbocharged performance in an efficient package. Sporty and modern, Trax blends small-car agility with the utility of an SUV, including up to 48.4 cubic feet (1,371 liters) of cargo space. It’s Chevrolet’s seventh small-vehicle launch in less than four years. During that time, the brand’s share of the small-, compact- and mini-car segments has more than tripled – up 221 percent. The Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain with available forward collision alert technology, earned 2014 Top Safety Pick+ ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the only midsize SUVs of nine evaluated to earn Good ratings in the Institute’s small overlap front crash test. The Equinox and Terrain join the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu midsize sedan in earning the institute’s highest safety rating. The test, in which 25 percent of a vehicle's front end on the driver side strikes a 5-foot-high rigid barrier at 40 mph, is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle strikes another vehicle or an object like a tree or a utility pole. Chevrolet is the Best Value Truck Brand in America, according to data analysis firm Vincentric, which also named the Silverado 2500HD a Best Value in America while finding the Silverado family has the lowest cost to own of any full-size pickups. Vincentric analyzes a vehicle’s cost-of-ownership through eight different measures: depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Vincentric awards the Best Value in America Award using an analysis comparing ownership costs to a vehicle’s market price. “With the average age of trucks on the road now more than 11 years, we know that customers hold on to their trucks for a long time,” said John Fitzpatrick, Silverado marketing manager. “With the lowest cost of ownership of any full-size truck in the segment, the Silverado makes it easiest on our customers to do so.” Said David Wurster, president of Vincentric: "Our statistical analysis used over 1,000 pickup truck configurations to identify the best value truck line in the United States. "We found that Chevrolet trucks cost less to own and operate than would be expected, providing great value to truck buyers. Chevrolet and the Silverado have a long history of providing high-value trucks, and the 2014 offerings continue this heritage." Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting pickup on the road. It offers the best pickup coverage in America, including 2-year/24,000 mile recommended scheduled maintenance and a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. COURTESY CHEVROLET
