Courtesy Chevrolet explains why it is important to get an oil change and how often you should have the service done to your Chevy
One of the most important things you can do to keep your vehicle healthy and running smoothly is to change its oil. Changing a vehicle’s oil is simple enough to do at home, but if you simply do not have the time to do it yourself, fear not, your friends here at Passport Auto Group are here to help you out. Our trained specialists use parts from each manufacturer and have the experience and knowledge to get your oil change done in a timely fashion so you can get on with your busy day.
Many people who bring their vehicles in when they need to change their oil do not think about bringing it to a dealership because they think we charge more than other places. In fact, our prices are very competitive, and we use genuine parts while other service shops may not. We also include many other service features to go along with your oil change to make your vehicle drive like the day you drove it off of our lot.

Chevrolet, one of the world’s largest car brands and Carhartt, America’s leading workwear brand, today announced a strategic partnership where Carhartt will become the Official Workwear of Chevy Trucks and Chevy Trucks will be the Official Partner of Carhartt. This partnership is a celebration of two brands committed to providing consumers with rugged, long-lasting products, inspired by hardworking people.
“When you look at both of our brands and our customers, there’s a natural connection between Chevrolet and Carhartt,” said Hugh Milne, Chevrolet Truck marketing manager. “Both have more than 100 years of history rooted in Detroit. And today, both brands have built a reputation for delivering quality durable products.”
Carhartt was founded in 1889 when its founder, Hamilton Carhartt, recognized the need for stronger durable garments for railroad engineers. Under the motto “Honest value for an honest dollar,” the Carhartt bib overall was created and rapidly evolved into the standard for quality workwear. Today, Carhartt remains just as committed to developing the best products and creating authentic partnerships that help consumers on and off the jobsite.
By comparison, Chevy Truck recently celebrated its centennial — it delivered the first trucks to customers in 1918. Chevrolet has built more than 85 million trucks globally in the 100 years since. That truck lineup includes Silverado, the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup trucks on the road*.

The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado’s available 3.0L Duramax inline-six turbo-diesel engine adds choice and versatility for full-size truck customers, offering class-leading torque and horsepower in addition to focusing on fuel economy and capability. It is the first-ever inline-six turbo-diesel offered in Chevrolet’s full-size light-duty trucks.
Chevrolet engineers started with a clean-sheet design and developed an all-new engine that leverages the efficiency and refinement advantages of the inline six-cylinder architecture and incorporates advanced combustion and emissions technologies to optimize performance and efficiency. It is priced identically to the 6.2L V-8 as a $2,495 premium over a 5.3L V-8 model or $3,890 over a 2.7L Turbo model.
“From the moment the engine is started, to its idle, acceleration and highway cruising, the 3.0L Duramax performance will change perceptions of what a diesel engine can offer in refinement,” said Nicola Menarini, director for Diesel Truck Engine Program Execution. “With advanced technologies that draw on global diesel expertise, it’s a no-compromise choice for those who want the capability and driving range of a diesel in a light-duty truck.”
Available on LT, RST, LTZ and High Country models, the 3.0L Duramax diesel rounds out the new Silverado’s range of six propulsion choices, each tailored to suit customers’ needs for performance, efficiency, technology and value. It is rated at an SAE-certified 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque delivering 95 percent of peak torque at just 1,250 rpm. Peak torque is sustained from 1,500 rpm through 3,000 rpm, providing a powerfully smooth and satisfying driving experience.
For 2020, Chevrolet makes the strongest, most advanced Silverado even more so with several new features that include the new 10-speed automatic transmission paired with the 5.3L V-8 standard on the LT Trail Boss and available on the High Country; the legendary 6.2L V-8 offered on Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss and RST trims; and available technologies including new trailering features and Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera1.
“In today’s truck market, customers continually demand more features, more technology and more capability,” said Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer of Full-Size Trucks. “For 2020, we are delivering more in each of these areas. As a result, the Silverado now offers customers the most towing capability of any light-duty pickup and the most affordable light-duty truck with more than 400 horsepower.”
New 6.2L V-8 availability for Trail Boss, RST models
For 2020, more than half of Silverado trim levels will be available with the 6.2L V-8 with an SAE-certified 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
For the Custom Trail Boss and the LT Trail Boss, that power is paired with a 2-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off Road Package with a locking rear differential, skid plates, Rancho® mono-tube off-road shocks, 18-inch wheels and Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires. The Custom Trail Boss with the 6.2L V-8 starts at $43,865 including destination fee, making it the most affordable light-duty truck with more than 400 horsepower on the market.
