Courtesy Chevrolet is celebrating another prestigious accolade for its Chevrolet Colorado, as it has been named the 2024 Best Truck of the Year by the Hispanic Motor Press Association (HMPA). This recognition highlights the truck's exceptional capability, performance, technological features, and overall value. The award presentation took place at AutoMobility LA, where HMPA president Ricardo Rodriguez-Long and a distinguished panel of judges honored the Chevrolet Colorado during the 14th annual HMPA program. The 2024 jury panel, consisting of independent Hispanic automotive media, content creators, and industry influencers, evaluated the vehicles based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, infotainment integration, interior design, environmental considerations, driver satisfaction, and price. Chevrolet is particularly proud of this distinction, considering the popularity of pickup trucks among Hispanic consumers. The 2023 Colorado lineup, which contributed to this achievement, includes the Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, ZR2, and the first-ever Trail Boss models. Each model in the lineup boasts three distinctive chassis stances, optimizing their capabilities for a diverse range of work and recreational activities, including off-roading.
Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, president of the Hispanic Motor Press, emphasized the significance of value for the Latino community in their purchasing decisions. He stated, "As Latinos, we look for the most value in every one of our purchases. We have immense buying power and are discerning customers when it comes to selecting vehicles for ourselves, our families, and our lifestyles. HMP recognizes the brands that continuously meet the needs of our community and deliver quality, reliable products." The Hispanic Motor Press Awards serve as the premier independent Hispanic awards in the country, providing valuable insights for the Hispanic community to make informed decisions about the best vehicle options in the market. The jury panel, comprised of national Hispanic journalists, content creators, and influencers, assesses vehicles based on key purchase drivers for Hispanic families, such as quality, reliability, style, safety, and value. The Hispanic Motor Press Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, has a mission to educate and assist the Hispanic consumer in transitioning towards clean, affordable mobility capable of reducing greenhouse emissions and improving air quality.
