Modern parents know that when you add it all up, you may actually spend more time with your kids in the car than you do in the living room. So, it’s important to find a vehicle that has convenient features and is comfortable, reliable and, most importantly, safe.

But you don’t have to scour safety studies or go on a dealership crawl every weekend to find the best vehicle for your family. Luckily, U.S. News & World Report puts out a yearly list of the cars, vans and SUVs that offer the best combination of quality, space and family-friendly features.

Well, the 2013 list is out and three Chevrolet vehicles — Traverse, Suburban and Cruze — were named the “Best Car for Families” in their respective classes.

“The Chevrolet Traverse is the Best 3-Row SUV for Families,” the magazine says on its website, “and it offers convenient features like remote start and a parking aid.” The Traverse also offers a comfortable ride, massive cargo room and solid fuel economy. And it’s perfect for larger families as it seats up to eight, with a third row that is spacious enouch to accommodate adults. Standard interior features include a rear vision camera and a 6.5-inch touch-screen display. And if you want to impress the kids a bit more, Traverse can be equipped with a flip-down DVD screen and the Chevrolet MyLink† infotainment system, which allows Bluetooth audio streaming from Pandora® Internet Radio.

For an even bigger family — or a frequent carpooler — U.S. News reccomends Suburban above all other Full-Size SUVs. According to the site, “The Chevrolet Suburban, which seats up to nine … [is a] natural choice for larger families, and [has] amenities like climate controls for the rear seats and chilled compartments for drinks and snacks.” Like the Traverse, Suburban has a rear vision camera† for backing up, but Suburban ups the ante with not one, but two flip-down overhead screens for entertainment.
