MIAMI, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The Vehicle Production Group, LLC (VPG) has recently added two new dealerships Phoenix, AZ and Wilmington, DE, increasing the automotive company's network to fifty nationwide. VPG produces the MV-1, the only factory-built, wheelchair accessible vehicle in the world for consumer, livery and taxi use at their plant in Mishawaka, IN. The MV-1 of Arizona is part of the Phoenix- based Courtesy Chevrolet Group, owned by the Gruwell family. The dealership is the largest Chevrolet dealership in Arizona and has been operating since 1955. The MV-1 of Delaware is part of the Wilmington- based Auto Team Delaware group, owned by Michael Uffner. The dealership was founded in 1916 and today is home to Cadillac, Kia and Subaru franchises- and now VPG. The MV-1 features a fully deployable right-side ramp (available in manual and automatic versions) and can accommodate up to six occupants - including wheelchairs and motorized scooters. All MV-1 models feature a sturdy, rigid, fully-boxed frame; a Ford 4.6-liter V8 engine; and a Ford electronic 4-speed transmission. The MV-1 is available with either compressed natural gas (CNG) or conventional gasoline fueling systems. The MV-1 has also been approved for use as a taxicab in New York City and Philadelphia.
